Oya Scoop/Spoon in Sage

Handmade tactile coffee scoops by Studio Yoki.

Here Emma is celebrating the tactility in making a product and using that same product. The handle of these spoons are made in one swift movement, pinching the clay between thumb and index finger.

For Emma, it is one of the most pleasing things to create in her studio, and she hopes that you get the same pleasure in holding and using this spoon.

Oya is the first half of the Japanese word oyayubi, meaning thumb.

Ceramic scoop spoon handmade in stoneware clay body and subtle shimmer sage glaze. It is made using the hand building technique pinching. The handle comfortably fits between thumb and index finger.  Perfect for scooping coffee, tea or flour!
